Write
Focused writing
WritePlease gives the page your attention without turning your writing session into a browser workspace.
The feature catalogue
WritePlease brings the parts of a long writing project together without pretending the browser should become your desk. The name is the request: please, write. The words are still yours.
Write
WritePlease gives the page your attention without turning your writing session into a browser workspace.
Organize
A native project keeps the parts of a book close at hand and readable on your own computer.
Track progress
Use clear progress cues to understand where the work is moving, not to turn writing into a competition.
Export
Create a PDF for reading or printing, a DOCX for sharing with an editor, or an EPUB for an e-reader. PDF layouts include reading copies, print-ready pages, and Shunn manuscript format.
Protect your work
Your manuscript starts on your computer. WritePlease does not require an online editor or an account to write.
Organize
Canvas gives a project a freeform surface for arranging story threads, linking scenes, and seeing how the pieces relate.
What's next
Planned releases, not promises. None of these features is available yet. Target versions and scope may change; there are no announced release dates.
A portable local record of how your project changes, with optional signed server time receipts.
Follow your project's development with an offline history that needs no account. Optional Verified mode will add signed time receipts through a paid online service. These record when a history record was received, not who wrote the text, and do not replace backups.
Set a project-wide default word goal for new scenes.
A project setting will provide a default scene word goal, without changing individual goals you have already set.
Find titles and text across your project without going online.
Search is planned for the project tree and scene text, with contextual results that take you to the matching scene.
Compare local and external versions before deciding which to keep.
See your version alongside changes made outside WritePlease, then choose which to keep for each file or apply one choice to all conflicts. You stay in control of what is kept.
Screen-reader support, a scalable interface, and translations for more languages.
Planned improvements cover screen readers, keyboard focus, interface scaling, high contrast, and translated interface text.
Pick up your project on another device.
Move between supported computers and Android devices with optional project sync. Keep writing in the app, with your manuscript and project material together. Sync is separate from Verified mode and is designed for switching devices, not live collaboration.
Continue writing on an Android phone or tablet.
The Android release is planned together with project sync, so projects can move between supported desktop and mobile installations.
Rewind through a project's history and see how the manuscript took shape.
Browse the recorded history of the whole project in read-only mode, then explicitly restore a single scene if needed. Replay can only show history that was actually captured.
Take the entire project back to how it looked at an earlier moment.
Return scenes, chapters, and their arrangement to an earlier recorded version of your project, while keeping its history intact.
Connect an optional recording to the writing session it belongs to.
A second device will display changing session codes through the Android app or a browser. Together with optional camera recording, these codes help connect the footage to a specific session. They do not verify your identity or certify AI-free writing.
Add an optional visual record of your keyboard activity during a Verified session.
Record your hands, keyboard, and session codes without capturing your writing screen or audio. Recordings are planned to stay encrypted on your device, with no automatic upload. You choose whether to share them. A recording can support a record of your writing process, but cannot certify authorship or AI-free text.
Screenwriting is also being explored, but has no target release. Live collaboration is not planned.
